Bucks LakeA beautiful small mountain lake that is big on fishing. Bucks offers stunning views of granite studded mountains and 5 species of fish including; Mackinaw, Kokanee, Browns, Rainbows and Brook Trout. Don't let the lake's size fool you we net fish over the 20 pound mark every year. Bucks Lake is located 50 miles from Oroville, 97 miles from Reno and 115 miles from Sacramento.
The Seasons - (May-September) Bucks, like many Sierra lakes at a mile high elevation in not accessible by road during the winter, and generally opens up in early May. The best time for Trophy Mackinaw is usually right after the lake opens up as the big fish are on the move looking for their next meal. The other 4 species are usually on the bite the entire season shallow at first then moving deeper as the summer moves along. The Kokanee, while not the largest the state has to offer, are plentiful and provide fantastic action on the ultra light gear. New for 2017 the individual Kokanee limit at Bucks Lake was increased to 10 fish per day giving anglers the opportunity to really put the wood to this sustainable resource. The Rates - The first two guests $225.00 per person. Each additional guest $150.00 (Two person minimum boat charge, all tackle and fishing equipment is provided including fish cleaning and wrapping) |
